GROWING INTERNET PUBLISHING COMPANY
MOVES TO
HISTORIC YONKERS BUILDING
--koreanday.com brings cutting-edge technology to Industrial Revolution environment
YONKERS, NY (2/7/00)--In a classic case of old meets new, an expanding Internet publishing company has transformed a portion of an historic Yonkers building into a state-of-the-art headquarters for its burgeoning webzine enterprises.
koreanday.com, formerly of nearby Hartsdale, N.Y., recently moved into the circa. 1917 building on Lake Avenue, site of the old Postal Service Administration office for Yonkers, and later the Yonkers Democratic Party headquarters.
The building, located across from Lennon Park and a municipal parking lot, features distinctive architecture, including 20-foot ceilings, original oak floors and a fireplace. Necessary technological enhancements have been completed while maintaining the unique ambiance and old-world feel of the building.
"We're wired to the hilt in a setting that evokes memories of the crank-operated phone," notes Jai V. Bae, Publisher. "Our growth required larger office space, but we didn't want the sterile, cookie-cutter kind of building. We wanted something different and we found our home."
The-day.com companies publishes koreanday.com, the first bilingual, English-Korean Internet magazine. Incorporating acclaimed graphic design with unique multi-functional features, koreanday.com has experienced dramatic increases in readership both here and abroad, and drawn attention throughout the webzine industry.
The-day.com companies' new address is 116 Lake Avenue, Yonkers, N.Y. 10730-2710. Telephone is (914) 423-5780.
