A Different Kind of Problem

Dear Lady Eros,

Are you really a lady or are you more of a broad? Cause I feel like I need a broad to answer this question. I'll just assume you are a broad masquerading as a lady -- I read your last few columns so I think I know where you are cumming from.

This is my problem: I am a 26 year-old woman who under normal circumstances would be considered quite hirsute. That's right I am hairy. Now the aesthetics of this don't bother me, rather it is the physicality of it all. What I mean is that during intercourse, with all this hair, my clitoris does not receive the necessary stimulation to orgasm. I have tried trimming, shaving and even waxing--all with disastrous results in the forms of nicks, cuts and most troublesome, persistent rashes that just refuse to go away.

Got any hair removal tips? Or better yet can you suggests a means of getting off without taking it all off?

Thanks,

Hairy Mary

Hairy Mary:

I admit that mountainous pubic hair does not fall directly within my realm of expertise. So, in order to best eliminate your physical discomfort, I've done some research on hair removal.

Not surprisingly, an excessive amount of hair removal strategies exists, available to any willing/ brave consumer with unwanted hair and a credit card. You said you?ve tried trimming, waxing, and shaving, so I endeavored to find other increasingly exotic and (and expensive) methodologies for sensitive hair removal.

Electrolysis and laser hair removal are probably the most popular types of so-called permanent hair removal, though from the buzz I've heard, neither works as well as their sponsors purport. Apparently, the major difference between the two is that electrolysis focuses on one hair at a time, and therefore takes much more time. I do have a friend who claims that laser hair removal - after four sessions - did nothing but alter her hair to an albino white. A nice effect maybe, but that is not what she was looking to do. In any case, according to the Lasertrolysis of Naples clinic, lasers remove hair by emitting a beam of light (wide or thin) that somehow "disables" the hair follicle. And for your information HM, a fairly substantial number of people do go to electrolysis and laser hair removal clinics specifically to eliminate pesky pubic hair.

Another option you may want to consider resides in the land of really weird depilatories - an all natural sugar paste. Apparently, this paste is heated then applied to your hair, then pulled off - quickly and sharply. It sounds like waxing, and I doubt the 100% organic sugar makes it any less painful. Yet another peculiar invention uses radio frequency to alter the roots of your hair. The website which describes this method displays photographs of numerous bikini clad women, which led me to the assumption that pubic hairs could also be subject to these radio waves. And if it?s possible, a laboratory website explores even scarier methods of hair removal (as well as the old standards) including "blood drawing" and vaccinations, both from which we should all stay happily away.

My final advice to you Hairy Mary, is to look into hair removal options, but think very strongly of retaining your natural hairy self. If your hair is seriously interfering with your sexual pleasure (and I?m assuming you don?t have hair growing out of your actual sweet spot) then tell your partners to push it aside during oral or any other type of intercourse. Or hold it back yourself. Or comb it into braids. If your hair is very long (not just densely populated) then I suggest trimming it again. When you trimmed it, you may have trimmed it too short, which could lead to itchiness and discomfort. Whatever you decide, remember that how it works matters more than how it looks. And besides, many people prefer women with an abundance of hair as this slightly pornographic website suggests.
