Hot VQF Format Downloads

Most listening to music on 'Net lean toward MP3 or RealAudio files, but VQF files are a good alternative for low-speed connections (Click here to download a player). So, here are some choice VQF selections:

Baek Ji Young's debut album, Sorrow, highlights the flexibility of this young singer's voice. For instance, although her first single was a Latin dance song, she also embraces the ballad. Jagun Baraem [VQF] is almost fragile in its delicate tone, except for the word "fragile" implies a frailty of voice that Baek Ji Young does not have.

I've been impressed with the variety of music on the latest G.O.D. album. A lot of groups find one sound and stick with it, which means that if you sit down and listen to an entire CD in one sitting, you're in for a boring time. G.O.D.'s Aesoo [VQF] demonstrates the group's versatility. It's slightly salsa, slightly rap and entirely danceable.

Turbo's internet-inspired Cyber Lover [VQF] is a snappy techno dance tune. This is uptempo tune should sound familiar to long-time Turbo fans -- it's style is classic for the group. Mickey does the rapping here, and does a pretty good job at that.

Lee Hyun Do was right in there with Seo Taiji when hip-hop first appeared in South Korea in the mid-1990s. I don't know where he went after Deux broke up, but he's back now, working with the hip-hop genre again. His new CD is Hip Hop Da Album, P'iehro [VQF] is indicative of what you're going to hear on this album -- the rap is some of the best out there.

For more good rapping, check out Uptown's UPT Paradoxxx [VQF]. This song has a sweet beat and the rapping is tight.

It was surprising to see how long it took for people to pick up on Tashannie. Their CD has been out for months now, and its' singles are climbing the chart so slowly. About now you're probably hearing Kyunggoh (Warning) [VQF] a lot. This is a nice rap song, but also shows off the lyrical qualities of the duo's voices.

I don't know about anyone else, but I thought Yoo Seung Jun's third album was a wash, but he's back with a fourth, so someone must be listening to him. His single Yunga (Love Song) [VQF] is a decent song. There's really nothing very wrong with his singing -- in fact, he's improved -- but his material may not grab you.

Uhm Jung Hwa is being heard again now that she's released a "best" album called All Details. Her fans seem to be partial to the dance tune Cross [VQF], which is the second track on the album. This dance song isn't loud or frenetic enough to fall into the "rave" category.

From Lee So Eun's second CD, Sin Bi, you can hear Suhbangnim [VQF] which is a nice ballad with lots of personality. The style of this piece helps communicate the narrative, and the the (synthesized?) whistle adds a haunting quality in the bridges. Jo Sung Mo's newest single, Gashinamoo (Thorn Tree) [VQF] is unlike most of the songs on his latest CD, which are remakes of older ballads. This one is completely different and the closest I can get is to compare it to a Celtic air.
