- I had not seen Awesome's video,
Ghost [RealVideo] before, but I like the well enunciated rap in the song. The video, is in black-and-white, but it works well -- especially with the dramatic thunderclouds at the beginning.
- Choi Da Bi and Jou Min comprise one of my favorite duos, Bijou. Sometimes it's nice to take a break from the hardcore songs and just listen to love songs.
I Love You More Than Anyone Else [RealVideo] is really pleasant on the eyes and ears. The video is not top quality, but the audio is very good. Another available video from Bijou is It's Okay [RealVideo].
- The opening of Chae Jung Ahn's
Mojung [RealVideo] always makes me regret I don't take more time out to listen to classical music. The rest of the song is mostly techno (with car-racing sounds thrown in).
- Dokdoong sepia tones in their
Chungookui Noonmool [RealVideo] work, as does the video's red/white sections. The editing is tight and highlights the songs sharp beat. It is not a particularly original song, but it is still done well.
- I admire JoPD for doing things his way. His success is largely due to self-publication and promotion via the Internet. His unique rap music draws a lot of praise from listeners. I find that his big hit
Fever [RealVideo] a bit high-pitched for my taste, but the video is neat, in a techie sort of way.
- Lim Sung Eun is capitalizing on the popularity of technopop. Her
Majimak Baeryuh [RealVideo] has a classic techno sound (softer than "technorave"), and the video for the song embraces the futuristic look that is normally associated with techno songs.
- The video for Sohodae's
Sarang Geurigo Choouk [RealVideo] highlights the youth of the group. The video is bright in that the background and the group members wear a lot of happy colors. Like most young groups, Sohodae vaguely reminds me of Han's Family.
- Space A's techo version is decent, there
Sungsool (Maturity) [RealVideo] has more of a euro flavor than other techno on the scene, which I think gives it just a touch more depth.
- Tashannie's debut album has a smooth rap sound, yet the video for
Every Day [RealVideo] is a bit on the grim side.
- Looking at Team's
Byul [RealVideo] video with the sound off, you might guess you are watching a "mad techno" song. It looks Lim Sung Eun's video above. Yet, Byul is a quiet song despite its video contradiction.
- Yoo Chae Young's
Emotion [RealVideo] opening is quite elegant (you should be able to picture Fred and Ginger dancing "Cheek to Cheek"), but the rest of the song is quite another matter.
