The turnover on hit songs is slow these days -- everybody is listening to Holiday albums and releases like Hong Suk Chun's dance mix Feliz Navidad [RealAudio] and Ria's White Christmas (Fast Version) [RealAudio]. And, of course, SM Productions has pushed out a project album just for the season -- you, too, can listen to Jingle Bells [MP3] as performed by H.O.T., S.E.S., ShinHwa, Fly to the Sky and Yoo Young Jin.

Yoo Seung Jun's new album hasn't even been on the shelves long enough for me to consider buying it, and already it's produced a hit on the charts, Vision. I didn't think the releases from his last album (Yeoljeong [MP3], Bootakhae [MP3], Neonun Nah [MP3]) were as good as his earlier work (Saranghae Noona [MP3], Na Na Na [MP3]). If you like Vision [MP3], you might also want to check into a couple other songs from the new CD, Memory [MP3] and The War [MP3].

Still holding strong on the charts is Kim Jang Hoon's Seulpeun Sunmool [RealAudio]. This pretty ballad comes from his fifth album, Babo. Also good for winter listening is Kim Gun Mo. From his sixth album, Growing, comes the song For You Coming Close to Me [RealAudio] which is supplanting his single Boomerang.

If listening to Kim Jang Hoon or Kim Gun Mo puts in the mood for more ballads, be sure and check out Kim Kyung Soo's Goobaek [RealAudio]. This is a very pretty, slow song. From the same artist also comes Yeonin [RealAudio], which is similar but is a duet rather than a solo piece.

If, on the other hand, you're not feeling quiet and contemplative, you can revisit the sounds of the summer with the Y.G. Family. Yang Hyun Suk's project album of the summer has been re-released under the title Best of Y.G. Family with some additional mixing and matching. Available on-line are Oorinun Y.G. Family [RealAudio] and Agamaui Yeongi [RealAudio]. Not to disrespect the family, but the original album isn't even a year old -- why do we need to hear it again?

Well, even if I'm not impressed, there are a lot of people who are really into remixes -- thus we have people like DJ Churi and DJ Acura hitting the airwaves. Right now, you can listen to Mixmag 2000 from DJ Churi. A couple of the mixes can be heard as Mollah ('99 Dance Version) [RealAudio] and Youngweonhan Sarang (Dance Version) [RealAudio].

Jinju has something a little different out in the form of Jinju's Soul Music. I find Gani [RealAudio] a welcome relief from the generic pop songs being cranked out by major production companies right now. Nae Sarangul Badajweoyo [RealAudio], a duet, is also pleasant but perhaps a little less interesting. I would expect one or the other of these songs to show up on the charts some time soon.
