Drunken Tiger is a rap/hip-hop group consisting of two young men that go by the names of Tiger J.K. and D.J. Shine. Drunken Tiger is a controversial group that gained at least part of its fame from the fact that it had a video banned from the Korean airwaves. Rumor has it their second CD is in the works. In the meantime, rap fans can listen to Nahn Nul Won Hae(I want you), Do You Know Hip Hop? and Return of the Tiger in MP3 format. You might also want to listen to Do Dat, Ha Ha Ha, Kid From Korea or the basement mix of Sweet Talk [RealAudio].

Sechs Kies has a new album coming out sometime in August '99. In the meantime, you can listen to some of the hits from their first album like Pom Seng Pom Sah and Gi Uk Heh Jool Leh [MP3]. From the Welcome to the Sechs Kies album, you can still hear Party Time and For You [RealAudio]. Road Fighter [MP3], and MuhMo HanSarang (Reckless Love) [RealAudio], Chance [RealAudio] and Say [RealAudio] can also downloaded. On the Sechs Kies Special 3.5 album, the ballad Nurul Bonaemyuh [RealAudio] was popular with the girls, as was Couple [RealAudio].

The S#arp released their debut album earlier this year. This group is slightly different from the other teen gayo out there today in that it consists of three girls and two guys. This helps them mix up the sound a bit. The percussion intro to track three, Yes, is catchy. This song is almost entirely in English. Lying [RealAudio] is the fourth track on their debut album and it shows the group's rapping strength.

CLON's Love and Soul [RealAudio] off CLON 3 Funky Together seems to be doing well on the charts (even if its tone doesn't match the art on the album jacket at all). This melodic ballad is a sweet listening experience. The title song Funky Tonight [RealAudio] is a bit more of a disco experience?no surprises there. Blue In The Night [MP3] starts a bit more sultry sounding, then segues into a more hip-hop style. It retains a light, disco sound, however, rather than turning into a full-force gansta rap.

Now we come to Shin Hwa, a six-guy group that is also trying to make it with a rap sound these days. Shin Hwa's last album was T.O.P. (Twinkling of Paradise). Listen for the Swan Lake theme throughout the title song [RealAudio]. To hear Shin Hwa's total sound, listen to the second track, Yo1x, and the fifth track, Nothing, as well.
