YONKERS, N.Y., March 13 /PRNewswire/ -- The Bilingual Internet Magazine KoreanDay.com has teamed with The Korean Channel, a broadcaster over Time Warner Cable in New York, to make possible the first-ever Internet video coverage of the 14th annual Korean American Student Conference (KASCON) to be held at Rutgers University, in New Brunswick, NJ on March 16-19. Keynote speeches and major events from KASCON 2000 will be videotaped, digitized, edited and made available for global viewing on the Internet.

KoreanDay.com will provide promotional support, online coverage, and volunteer staffing. Articles written by student attendees will be posted on the site, and volunteers from the Internet magazine will help conduct in- person surveys covering issues of importance to Korean-Americans. Links and banners will be posted on KoreanDay.com providing access to The Korean Channel, and KASCON Web sites and related activities.

"This is an opportunity to provide universal visibility for KASCON," says Jai Bae, publisher of KoreanDay.com. "The exchange of ideas, community leadership training and discussions that take place will now be accessible to Korean-Americans across the county, and around the world."

More than 1,000 participants are expected to attend KASCON 2000. Korean-American college students, as well as activists, political leaders, scholars, professionals and dignitaries will be in attendance. Conference activities include discussions and seminars about Korean-American social and identity issues, community leadership training and inter-cultural awareness programs.

Sang Han, president and founder of the Korean Channel, notes, "This is really what the Internet is all about -- connecting people and providing a forum for the exchange of important information." Streaming video of KASCON events will be available for viewing on the Internet at http://www.thekoreanchannel.com/. In addition, all recorded activities will be archived for future reference and viewing.
