HARTSDALE, N.Y., Dec. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- koreanday.com, the first bilingual, English-Korean Internet magazine, is offering prime space on its web site for use by Korean charitable and/or non-profit groups free of charge. As part of the ``Modern-Day Living'' section of the webzine, the space will be awarded via lottery to groups whose efforts directly benefit the Korean community.
``koreanday.com is an Internet magazine created for, and dedicated to, the Korean community,'' says publisher Jai Bae, a native of South Korea. ``Donating a section of the site to charitable groups is a natural extension of our mission to serve the community.''
The donated space can be used by charitable or non-profit groups for any purpose, including event announcements, fundraising or the showcasing of programs featuring revenue-generating commercial tie-ins. Groups can utilize the space for up to six months, and koreanday.com will provide free set-up, design and monthly updating of information. Like all information on koreanday.com, the information posted by charitable groups will be featured in both English and Hangul, the Korean written language.
koreanday.com was developed after extensive surveying of the Korean community. The site is updated several times each week and features a wide variety of articles on business, music, style, travel, and relationships, in addition to a free online bilingual auction.
Combining sophisticated graphic design with fully functional bilingual service, the webzine has gained substantial notoriety in both the Korean and Internet magazine publishing communities. Since debuting in November 1999, feedback from around the world has been strongly positive, and the number of visitors to the webzine has increased steadily, Ms. Bae reports.
``Advertising is naturally important for a webzine,'' adds Ms. Bae. ``But we believe giving a worthy group the opportunity to gain global publicity and exposure is equally essential. The Internet is a powerful tool -- too powerful to not be used for good purposes.''
koreanday.com is published by the-day.com company, headquartered in Hartsdale, N.Y.
Charitable or non-profit groups can apply for the free space by sending an e-mail noting the organization's charter and main activities to: suggestions@the-day.com. <1x-- TextEnd -->
